This Chardonnay shows rich stone fruit and melon aromas, whilst French oak barrel fermentation has added toasty vanilla and savoury complexity. The palate is rich and supple with a fine citrus finish.
Chardonnay is a wine ideal with food especially with Light smoked salmon salad, chicken ceasar salad & cheese platter.
Grapes were machine harvested in the cool of early morning. At the winery, the grapes were chilled, lightly pressed and the juice naturally clarified. Fermentation took place in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks with an added yeast culture, as well as a small 10% of the juice fermenting in oak barriques. Following fermentation, the wine matured on its yeast sediment for up to 8 months to improve the palate structure, before clarification, stabilising and ultimately bottling.
